I’m almost halfway to the goal but I’m not there yet. Because this is a follow up to Worth Fighting 4 and connects characters from all of my series together, I do need for certain things to be right in this rough draft. Yes, I’m listening @victoriachristophermurray and writing the bad words, but I’m also writing dark words, too. Issues and topics that weren’t dealt with in Worth Fighting 4 are coming out in Nothing Is 4 Nothing. I know when I do my first round of edits, I’m gonna have to go back and expound on some topics I started to explain at this point.

Am I worried about not reaching the goal of 50,000 words on November 30? No. I’m not arrogant enough to think because I’m a seasoned writer that I’m going to get this done. I am realistic enough to say that if for some reason I don’t get 50,000 words I’ll be at 49,000 something unless a family emergency or a medical issue arises.

I am also publisher, and since I’m eyeing a late summer/ early fall 2026 release for this title, I have to start working on the cover. On this front, I’m technically late in getting some of the preliminary things set up for this title, even on a rushed publication standard. If I were with one of the majors I was signed to, they would be pissed to know that I’m only 23,000 words in on a book coming out August/September. My small publishers would have more grace and mercy but the Big Five would never. This book would be pushed back a year if I were lucky, if not dropped.

Some of my closest literary friends were sent a draft of the cover last night and it got positive reviews. Definitely late 90s/early 2000s vibes. I probably won’t share the cover and official Lay Down Date for Nothing Is 4 Nothing until after Why I Wrote These Books comes out.

Let me get back to work. I’ve completed a chapter this morning between appointments and would like to complete one to two more before the day is over with.

Day 16 Word Count – 2,254 words
Total Word Count – 22,941 words
